Ink Systems
Catty has been utilizing environmentally friendly ink systems since the 1980's.
Paper
Catty utilizes Wet Strength, Non-Wet Strength, Bleached Kraft, Wax-Coated, Poly-Coated, and various other specialty papers when laminating to foil.
Aluminum Foil
Catty utilizes various different thin gauge Aluminum alloys ranging from 7 micron to 50 micron.
Heat Seals
Catty has a wide range of heat seal technologies that are designed specifically to match customer application equipment. Heat seal chemistries can seal with conditions as low as 90 degrees Celsius and a fraction of a second dwell time. Heat seal adhesives can be applied as a flood coat or in a pattern.
Cold Seals
Catty has developed a cold seal technology that allows a face-to-face bond with low pressure and no heat applications. This technology is utilized in the food and ice cream industries where heat is not an option and the package is designed to be easily re-opened by the consumer.
Glue Lamination
Catty utilizes water-based adhesive glues to laminate foil to paper for supported structures. Glues are low-odor and conform to FDA regulations.
Wax Lamination
Catty has perfected wax lamination of foil and paper. This technology is utilized in a “dead-fold” application where it is important to maintain the geometric structure when folding around food and ice cream products.
Slip Agents
Catty has a variety of slip technologies that allow for varying degrees of friction to conform with the required customer’s application equipment.
Barrier Coatings
Catty has a wide variety of barrier coatings to provide resistance to oxygen, air, and/or water.
FDA Coatings
Catty utilizes clear and pigmented coating technologies which are FDA approved for both direct and indirect food contact.
Insulating Coatings
Catty has coatings utilized for electrical and temperature insulating.
